Back
Can I be sure that I will receive the same lenses as I have earlier bought at my optician’s?
Yes. We only sell original lenses in their original packages, bought from the same manufacturers as your optician. As lenses are medical products, it is of high importance that they are identical at all times, wherever they are sold and from whom. Therefore you can feel assured that the lenses you order from LensSky are the same as you have earlier bought from your optician. The difference is that LensSky provides a quicker, easier delivery as well as much more competitive prices.

Back
How is it possible for LensSky to offer the exact same contact lens to such a highly competitive price – considerably lower than what my optician can offer?
It is quite simple, really: great quantity, minimal expenses and a clear focus on contact lenses only.
Great quantity: As the average contact lens retailer only has a few contact lens customers each day, he consequently needs to reach a certain amount of orders before he can qualify for a quantity discount from the lens distributor. This is often the reason why you normally have to wait quite a while for your contact lenses to be delivered. At LensSky, we never take our time and hold off before ordering from the distributor. We have actually got most brands and most parameters in stock already!
Minimal expenses: Local retailers need a great margin on the contact lens prices in order to cover for expenses such as rent, staff salaries, stock of glasses et cetera. We are able to reduce our prices due to the fact that we do not have normal eye care clinic expenses.
Focus on contact lenses only: LensSky are contact lens retailers. We do not sell glasses, beauty products or anything else. Instead we focus on having the greatest lens stock possible to be able to serve our customers in the best way. We want to be able to offer our customers the quickest, easiest and most convenient way of buying contact lenses.
Back
How much will I actually save if I decide to buy my contact lenses through LensSky?
You can save up to 50% depending on which brand and type of lenses you are using. Bear in mind also the time and energy you are saving by not having to travel far to buy your lenses.
Back
Where can I find my parameters?
Your parameters, i.e. strength, base curve, diameter, (cylinder and axis), can be found on your current box of lenses or on your contact lens prescription which you can obtain from your optician.
Back
What does BC stand for and how important is it?
BC is short for base curve, i.e. the curvature of the lens. This value is easiest found on your current lens box or on your current contact lens prescription. It is extremely important that you get the right BC value as it determines the curvature of the lens, which is meant to follow the shape of your eyeball.

Back
What does diameter mean?
The diameter is the distance measured straight across the lens, and varies accordingly to which brand you are using.
Back
How do I go about ordering lens solution?
You will need to place a separate order (using the same name and address) for the lens solution. If you order lenses just before or after ordering the solution, the entire order will be despatched together.

Back
Do I need to send in my prescription to be able to buy lenses through LensSky?
To be able to buy your contact lenses through us, you need a valid prescription for the particular brand you want to order. By ticking the box which says “I have a valid prescription for the lenses above”, you are certifying that you have a valid prescription for the lenses you wish to order. The prescription shall be up to date and not more than 12 months old.
Back
Will I still need to go for check-ups at my optician’s even though I’m buying my lenses through LensSky?
To make sure that you always have a correct and up to date prescription, we recommend you to go for an annual check up at your optician’s. By doing this, you will always be aware of possible eye sight changes.

Back
I have never worn contact lenses before. How should I go about ordering lenses?
First of all, you need to book an appointment with your optician, to get a proper eye examination where it is determined whether or not contact lenses are suitable for your eyes. The optician will then decide which lens suits your individual needs and you will also get a chance to learn how to insert and handle contact lenses. You are legally entitled to a copy of your prescription to bring home with you, where you can find all the data you need to order lenses on-line.
Back
I use one brand for my right eye and another for my left. Does this mean that I need to place two separate orders?
To order two different brands, you will need to place two individual orders. If you only need one box of a particular brand, make sure you set the total amount to 1 box and not 2, as the column automatically says, i.e. 1 for the left and 0 for the right.
Back
Is Acuvue a monthly disposable lens or a 2-week lens?
Depending on what your optician has prescribed, Acuvue can be used both as a monthly disposable or a 2-week lens. Always follow your optician’s recommendations regarding your individual replacement schedule.
Back
Do I need to get a prescription from my optician if I wish to order coloured contact lenses without any visual correction (zero power)?
Although we strongly recommend that you book an appointment with your optician prior to ordering coloured lenses with zero power, you don’t need to have a prescription for this.
Please note that this is only applicable for coloured lenses with zero power.
We cannot guarantee the colour result as it is highly individual depending on your natural eye colour, and do therefore strongly recommend that you try the lenses out at your optician’s prior to ordering.

Back
Which coloured contact lenses are best suited respectively for light and dark eyes?
To enhance and bring out the colour of naturally light eyes (blue, grey and green), a so called enhancer-lens is most suitable. Please note that the type of lens mentioned above only intensifies the colour of naturally light eyes and is not suitable if your natural eye colour is dark. Should you wish to chance the colour of your naturally dark eyes - a speckled, so called opaque lens is required. Opaque lenses are designed to cover your natural eye colour to create an illusion of a new, different colour.

Back
What does “toric” lenses do?
Toric lenses correct astigmatism. (see below)

Back
What is astigmatism?
Astigmatism is a condition in which the cornea’s curvature is asymmetrical (the eye is shaped like an egg instead of a tennis ball); light rays are focused at two points on the retina rather than one, resulting in blurred vision. To correct astigmatism, toric contact lenses are needed.
Back
Is it possible to go for an eye examination for contact lenses at my optician’s without having to purchase the lenses from there?
It is of course up to yourself to choose from where you wish to purchase your contact lenses. You are legally entitled to a copy of your prescription to bring home with you, where you will find all the data you need to order lenses on-line.
Back
My eyes get red and feel sore when I wear contact lenses. What should I do?
